Update to City of Citrus Heights Business File

Link to new correspondence from the City of Citrus Heights.

As it might be confusing what you are actually looking at, I will explain a bit.  When Robert Adams had his business license temporarily suspended in July, his attorney asked for an appeal hearing.  That date was set for mid-August.  Then Robert Adams asked for the hearing to be postponed to a "mutually agreeable date" in the future.  He then sold the "business entity" to his daughter's boyfriend and they attempted to re-open under a new license.  That license has been denied.  The hearing for the original license has yet to occur.

The letter you are looking at is a correspondence between the City's finance director and an attorney for Robert Adams.  The attorneys for Mr. Adams are giving dates for their unavailability...which is odd, seeing as though the hearing was agreed to be on a "mutually agreeable date".  The finance director points out that it would be easier to just tell her a few dates that WOULD work, instead of giving her dates from now until next June that do not work.  There was no need for legal correspondence with a proof of service.  She also points out that the letter was clearly cut and copied from a letter sent to the Department of Social Services, as they didn't even bother to change the name at the top of the proof of service.

At the going rate for attorneys, I'm sure that could have reimbursed at least 2 of the parents who are owed refunds.

Sadly the money was spent instead on pointless correspondence.

  1. We parents who are owed tuition refunds are getting angrier by the second! Here Bob is spending money right and left on attorneys and selling gift cards on Ebay and yet we have !!NOT!! been notified when we can expect a refund.

The holidays start next week and we want our money. Most of us scrimped to send our kids to CFS. Can this family actually be forgetting about all the supporters and the kids? We've stood by them time and again. We've been told to be patient. This waiting is simply not acceptable.

We've been patient long enough. We want our refunds !!NOW!!

  2. Well it looks like they are working very hard to get things squared away and find that "mutually agreeable date". I guess what they're saying is something like: We're available absolutely anytime EXCEPT any date that has a 5 or 2 in it, days ending in the letter "y", and every 2nd and 4th Weds. We're also unavailable any days directly following a full and/or new moon and we're never EVER available on Thursdays after 3pm during a high tide. Please also note that in observance of all national, religious and several made up holidays we will be closed many other dates as well, which will probably coincide with the dates you propose as "mutually agreeable". We are also unavailable during National Cheese Month, Zombie Appreciation Day, Groundhog's Day and Newspaper Recycling Awareness Week.

Why didn't they just send a list of dates that WOULD work for them? The list would probably be much shorter. Also, why not list out the dates for a couple of months (not the next year) so that this "date" can be scheduled as soon as possible? Weren't they trying to get everythinig taken care of as soon as possible?

I hate to be such a big smarty pants but this whole thing is so frustrating. I am one of the many former CFS parents that has watched this circus for MONTHS now with absolutely NO progress on any front. All I know is if I were really innocent I'd be fighting with every ounce of energy I had to prove my innocence and enter a plea already....oh .... and find a "mutually agreeable date".

  3. Laughed out loud at the post above me, but it is so true. CFS = excuses and postponements. We have seen it with the re-opening of the school, the famous punch list of repairs, the refusal to enter a plea in court. Delay, postpone, divert attention. They are hoping people will forget about these allegations, yet the victims have no choice but to remember on a daily basis. That's the real travesty here.
